Thomas Massie Introduces Bill To Stop $4.65 Billion Ukrainian Debt Forgiveness Scheme
Joe Biden continues leaving America nasty parting gifts
As Joe Biden’s flaccid presidential administration comes to an unceremonious close, the Biden regime is attempting to forgive $4.65 billion of debt Ukraine owes American taxpayers. This amount of debt being forgiven is roughly half of the economic loan doled out earlier in 2024.
During a press briefing on November 20, 2024, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller announced this debt relief plan. "So we have taken the step that was outlined in the law to cancel those loans, provide that economic assistance to Ukraine," he stated.
Back in April, Congress passed a supplemental aid package that allocated $60 billion worth of aid for Ukraine, which includes $9 billion structured as a loan, with a provision that allowed the Biden regime to forgive it, Miller revealed.
On November 20, Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie introduced a resolution to oppose this debt relief scheme. In a similar vein, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul immediately stated he would put forward a resolution to block this debt relief plan.
"On his way out, Joe Biden is trying to forgive $4.65 billion of debt Ukraine owes America's taxpayers. I just introduced H.J. Res 224 to stop this America Last' policy from taking effect," Massie said in a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
Congress has allocated over $175 billion for Ukraine since Russia launched its military incursion into Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
In the last few weeks, the Biden regime has escalated tensions with Russia by greenlighting Ukraine’s usage of long-range missiles to strike Russia’s interior. Additionally, the Biden regime has allowed the Ukrianians to use anti-personnel landmines as another way to escalate tensions.
Massie is correct in labeling these latest moves as America Last. Ukraine is a complete lost cause and just a sinkhole for outright graft and corruption. Plus, it increases the prospect of a great power war breaking out.
The US needs to stop funding Ukraine and ultimately get out of NATO, let Russia and Ukraine sort this problem out amongst themselves.
