Pro-Liberty Candidate TJ Roberts Wins Kentucky House Seat

The Kentucky House gets another solid addition

On November 5, 2024, pro-liberty candidate TJ Roberts won his race for Kentucky’s 66th House District by a margin of 70.5% to 29.5% against Democratic rival Peggy Houston-Nienaber.

TJ Roberts is a libertarian Republican who ran on a platform on key issues such as monetary freedom,  cutting government spending,  and the right to bear arms, while also vowing to fight the Kentucky political establishment. After winning his race, Roberts went on X/Twitter to announce his victory. He declared:

It is truly an honor to announce that the citizens of the 66th House District have elected me to serve as their state representative. I am truly humbled, and so very grateful for this opportunity that has been entrusted to me. You have my word that I will do everything in my power to make good on my promise to fight for better government. We’re going to stand together and fight for our constitutional rights, for individual liberty, and for lower taxes! We’re going to push back against nanny state overreach, and we’re going to send a message loud and clear in Frankfort: There is no room for compromise when it comes to advocating for the principles of limited government! I’m grateful to the Lord for guiding and protecting me through the campaign; I’m grateful to my family for standing by me in the trenches, and I’m grateful to my hardworking supporters and everyone who put in their time, talent, and treasure to help us achieve this victory. Citizens of Boone County, I’m grateful to you. Thank you for the privilege of allowing me to serve you. I’m going to give it my all.

The National Association for Gun Rights, one of the most pro-gun lobbies in the US, was ecstatic about Roberts’ victory, who they see as a pro-gun champion who will advance solid reforms to undermine gun control and restore the Second Amendment. NAGR tweeted the following:

With rumors and threats of RINOs seeking to make Kentucky a "Red Flag" state and implement several other pieces of gun control, it's good to know we have another pro-gun champion joining the legislature.

Robert’s presence in the Kentucky State House will go a long way in advancing pro-freedom ideas in the state. He’s a Thomas Massie Republican who will push the envelope and put libertarian populist ideas on the map. More TJ Roberts need to be elected nationwide for these ideas to fully transform into concrete policies.
