Trump Announces Nearly 300,000 Illegal Aliens Removed from Social Security Rolls
Hundreds of thousands removed as White House moves to protect benefits for seniors.
President Donald Trump announced that his administration has removed nearly 300,000 illegal aliens from Social Security Administration rolls, along with more than 100,000 migrants from Medicare eligibility, in what he described as a major crackdown on fraud draining benefits meant for American seniors.
Speaking at an event in The Villages, Trump framed the move as part of a broader push to protect Social Security and deliver relief to retirees. He pointed to policies like eliminating taxes on Social Security benefits and touted what he called the “largest tax cut in American history,” saying more than 51 million seniors now pay zero federal income tax.
“Together with Republicans in Congress, we’ve removed nearly 300,000 illegal aliens from the Social Security roll,” Trump said. “And we’ve removed more than 100,000 migrants from Medicare eligibility — and that number is going up.”
Trump argued the removals are part of an effort to clean up what he described as widespread abuse within federal entitlement programs.
“We are saving Social Security, because it was so rife with fraud,” Trump said, contrasting his administration’s actions with Democrats, whom he accused of ignoring the issue.
The announcement builds on earlier efforts by the administration. In August 2025, Trump said more than 200,000 illegal aliens had already been purged from the Social Security system. Officials have also moved to cancel thousands of Social Security numbers previously issued to non-citizens under prior administrations.
The crackdown comes as Republicans intensify their focus on safeguarding entitlement programs and tightening eligibility standards, particularly as concerns grow over the long-term solvency of Social Security and Medicare.
