Thomas Massie Says Dual Citizens Elected To US Congress Must Renounce Citizenship In All Foreign Countries

Massie is the only Congressman that stands up for American interests.

On August 19 2024, Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie declared that all dual citizens elected to Congress must renounce their citizenship with other foreign countries. 

In an X post, he said the following: 

Dual citizens elected to United States Congress should renounce citizenship in all other countries.

At a minimum, they should disclose their citizenship in other countries and abstain from votes specifically benefiting those countries.

Massie is likely referring to the level of influence countries like Israel has on the US Congress. Israel is notorious for its use of Israeli-American dual citizens to exert influence in foreign policy affairs in Washington D.C. 

Talks about Israeli influence in American politics have increased since Hamas’ attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023. Since then, the US has provided diplomatic cover and billions of dollars of military aid to the Jewish state. Several elected officials like Florida Congressman Brian Mast have shown up on the House floor donning an Israel Defense Force, boasting about how he has served in both the US Army and the IDF. 

BLP has previously reported how Mast has spread delusional rumors about Iran allegedly playing a role in the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump on July 13, 2024. Mast has received a paleoconservative, America First challenge from Rick Wiles in Florida’s 21st congressional district, largely due to his fanatic support for Israel’s foreign policy aims. 

Since being elected in 2012, Massie has been a staunch non-interventionist. In response to the October 7 attacks, Massie has opposed all forms of military aid to Israel and other foreign countries, while also opposing any attempts to escalate a conflict with Iran.

If we had more congressmen like Massie, the US would have a much saner foreign policy that actually focused on real national security threats — ie. the US’s open southern border — and not serve the interests of foreign nations such as Israel, Taiwan, or Ukraine.
