Shapeshifting RINO Marco Rubio Must Be Rejected for Secretary of State

Rubio's record shows he cannot be trusted.

Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida has been reported as the next Secretary of State under the Trump administration, although Trump has yet to confirm the news.

This is a terrible development for the MAGA agenda if true. Looking at Rubio’s history he is about as far from America First as anyone can get.

Getting elected to the U.S. Senate as a tea party champion of the Constitution, Rubio immediately did an about face after getting elected and began to serve the swamp and Washington D.C. elites. Rubio was rewarded by being anointed in the 2016 presidential election as a frontrunner for the nomination with the foreign policy establishment firmly behind him.

Then Trump came down the golden escalator and Rubio’s fate was altered forever. Rubio became a foil for Trump, getting into some of the colorful exchanges on the campaign trail before ultimately being emasculated with the moniker “Little Marco,” and losing to the future 45^th and 47^th President. Rubio’s political star was tarnished, but he has gone back to the well and artfully shapeshifted himself into a national populist.

“Common-good capitalism is about a vibrant and growing free market. But it is also about harnessing and channeling that growth to the benefit of our country, our people, and our society. Because after all, our nation does not exist to serve the interests of the market. The market exists to serve our nation and our people,” Rubio said in 2019.

But before Rubio started billing himself as a champion of the common man, he was serving globalist corporations by pushing for amnesty for illegal immigrants. Rubio was one of 14 Republican Senators who joined President Obama to approve legislation that would have replaced American workers with underpaid migrants and created a permanent Democrat voting base of millions of people.

"We focus so much on how immigrants can change America that we forget America has always changed immigrants even more," Rubio said of his support for amnesty. "That's why I support this reform, not just because I believe in immigrants, but because I believe in America even more."

Rubio was also once a supporter of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), or NAFTA on steroids. Rubio stated in a Wall Street Journal op/ed that the TPP’s intent to offshore jobs and sell out American sovereignty to China would “further our strategic goals in Asia and increase prosperity at home.” This globalist “free trade” deal would be the first thing that was axed by President Trump via executive order after he took office in 2017.

Following the election, Rubio heralded Trump for entering the U.S. into an era of “pragmatic foreign policy” in which America First is the overriding principle. But when he was running for President, Rubio staked his claim as the most belligerent pro-intervention neocon in the race when he thought it would benefit his ambitions. Rubio wanted to arm Ukrainians to fight a proxy war against Russia as early as a decade ago.

Before flip-flopping on his position, Rubio was a proponent of the War on Iraq, claiming that “the world is a better place because Saddam Hussein does not run Iraq” in 2015. Rubio has also been an ardent defender of unconstitutional NSA spying on American citizens. Rubio said in 2016 that “if ISIS had lobbyists in Washington,” they’d have been pushing for a moderate bill to rein in some of the excesses of NSA spying supported by Sen. Ted Cruz.

Rubio is a self-serving snake who would only think of himself, his own ambitions, and his personal prestige when making any decision, which would make him wholly ineffective on the task of effectuating America’s renewal as Secretary of State. Rubio must be rejected for this position and any position in the Trump administration.
