Pro-Gun Organization Sounds The Alarm Against Trump’s Nomination Of Pam Bondi As Attorney General
Bondi supports red flag gun confiscation orders
After Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz withdrew his name from the Attorney General nomination, President-elect Donald Trump nominated former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi on November 21, 2024.
Bondi’s nomination has caused concern among members of the Second Amendment community. For example, the National Association for Gun Rights published a post on X/Twitter on November 22 showing a press conference featuring then-President Trump and then-Florida AG Bondi in the aftermath of the Parkland, Florida massacre, where she boasted about how the state is going to back the implementation of a red flag gun confiscation order.
NAGR posted, “As you may know, Trump nominated Pam Bondi for Attorney General. Frankly, we have some serious concerns about her positions on the 2A. Start with her support of Red Flag laws. She may say "due process" but her record shows she either doesn't mean it or doesn't understand it.”
During the press conference, Bondi said “We’re going to bring in something called the gun violence restraining order” that will allow “law enforcement come in and take the guns.”
Additionally, NAGR raised red flags about Bondi’s support for Florida’s passage of SB 7026. In 2018, after the Parkland High School massacre, a Republican trifecta passed SB 7026, a law that implemented a bump stock ban, an increase in the age to purchase a gun, and a red flag gun confiscation order.
NAGR posted about Bondi’s statement at the time:
Here we have Bondi defending an expansive gun control package.
"This bill is not perfect... it's simply the right thing to do"
What does she mean here? That it doesn't go far enough? Or that it "sadly" is chock full of 2A infringements.
These are questions we need answered.
Ryan Flugaur, the Vice President of the National Association for Gun Rights, also showed how the red flag law that Bondi supports has negatively impacted children in the Sunshine State. Flugar stated:
Woah. Here's another one @NatlGunRights. Under the Red Flag Law -- which AG nominee Pam Bondi takes credit for working on -- kids as young as 8 and 9 are getting Red Flagged in Florida. Fun fact: Thanks to the Biden-Cornyn 2022 Gun Control Bill, this could lead to a federal lifetime deprivation of Second Amendment rights WITHOUT due process. @hannahhill_sc https://www.abcactionnews.com/news/florida-investigative-team/floridas-red-flag-law-is-being-used-on-kids-as-young-as-8-and-9-years-old
Overall, Bondi looks like another establishment hack that will seek to pursue a conventional Republican agenda. Donald Trump would be wise to choose a much more qualified and principled AG such as Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton instead.
She needs to address this in person in the media for every American to see and soon...! BTW where is General Flynn?
Yeah, somebody needs to get to Trump and tell him not to bring her in as attorney general no good
