POLL: Majority of Voters Trust Donald Trump More Than Kamala Harris On Firearms Issues

Harris is an anti-gun threat.

According to a Fox News poll published on August 15, 2024, the majority of American voters trust former President Donald Trump to handle gun issues better than Kamala Harris.

Specifically, 50% of voters favor Trump, while 47% of voters favor Harris. 

For her part, Harris has already called for banning so-called “assault weapons” and implementing universal background checks. Additionally, Harris previously promised in 2019 that if she’s elected, she would use executive action to implement universal background checks if Congress did not implement gun control measures within the first 100 days of her presidential term.

At their first joint campaign appearance in Philadelphia, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz called for a prohibition on AR-15s and other firearms that Democrats arbitrarily classify as “assault weapons.”

The poll also found that women prefer Harris 52% to 43% on the issue of guns. As for race, 68% of black voters trust Harris more on the question of firearms, whereas only 29% trust Trump more. By contrast, whites (52% to 44%) and Hispanics (50% to 46%) favor Trump more on the question. 

Democrats have taken a hard left on gun issues in recent years. There’s no redeeming features of your average Democratic politician on the Second Amendment as well as a host of issues ranging from immigration to free speech. For that reason, incumbent Democrats must be relieved of the burden of holding higher office.
