Joe Biden Ends Re-Election Campaign
What’s the Democratic Party presidential ticket going to look like now?
On July 21, 2024, sitting President Joe Biden announced that he will not be running for re-election.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President,” Biden said in a post that he published on X. “And while it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
Biden congratulated Vice President Kamala Harris “for being an extraordinary partner in all this work.” Initially, the statement did not explicitly endorse her as his successor at the top of the Democrat ticket.
That said, in a subsequent statement posted on X, Biden threw “my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year.” Biden subsequently urged Democrats to come together, declaring “it’s time to come together and beat Trump.”
There is now increased speculation about who the Democrats will select as the vice presidential candidate, provided that Harris remains at the top of the presidential ticket. Some of the names being mentioned as rumored vice presidential candidates are Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.
It can’t be stressed enough that the Democrats are in a state of disarray and the Democratic Party Convention on August 19 to August 22 will likely mirror the disastrous convention of 1968. Expect all sorts of mayhem to ensure.
Expect the world's biggest media campaign in favor of The Anointed One, whoever that turns out to be.
Excrement, that's what.
