Grassroots Operative Who Helped Donald Trump Win Pennsylvania Endorses Matt Gaetz’s Nomination for Attorney General

Could Cliff Maloney run for Florida’s 1st congressional district?

After Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz was nominated by Donald Trump to serve as United States Attorney General on November 13, 2024, the seat for Florida’s 1st congressional district became vacant. Gaetz has represented this district since 2017. 

Since Gaetz was nominated as US AG, rumors have circulated that Cliff Maloney, the founder of the PA Chase and former President of Young Americans Liberty, could potentially run for Gaetz’s open seat. After all, he lives in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, which is in Gaetz’ district. 

Maloney tweeted the following on X:

Yes, we delivered a resounding win in PA (thanks to us knocking 510,000 doors and the HUGE support of all of our partner orgs)

Yes, my residence is Fort Walton Beach, FL so I am currently represented by PATRIOT @mattgaetz 

I appreciate folks encouraging me to run for Congress.

I am analyzing all options to figure out the best path to put America First

For now, I’m laser focused on doubling down in PA and turning the blue wall into a red tsunami.

Let’s get Matt confirmed as AG and then have the conversation about Congress.

Until then… we have mail-in requests to chase in PA on January 1.

Maloney’s PA Chase achieved its goal of knocking on 500,000 doors. In addition, PA Chase’s efforts were able to guarantee that Trump obtained 34.5% of the mail-in vote — a record percentage of mail-in votes. PA Chase’s work on top of other grassroots organizations’ operations helped flip Pennsylvania to Trump by a solid 50.4% to 48.5% margin. 

It’s up in the air if Maloney will run for Congress. If he ends up doing so, he will be a fantastic addition next to the likes of Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie in promoting pro-liberty causes in DC.
