Bessent Signals Major Breakthrough In Trump Administration's Hunt For Antifa Money Network
The Trump administration says major developments are coming in the investigation of Antifa funding sources.
The Trump administration is ramping up efforts to expose the financial networks that have fueled Antifa-linked activism and street violence for years, with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent indicating that significant developments could be coming in the months ahead.
Speaking from the White House, Bessent revealed that federal investigators are making substantial progress in tracing the funding streams behind Antifa and related organizations, according to reports from Just the News. He pointed to new Internal Revenue Service reporting requirements that will make it more difficult for nonprofit organizations to conceal the ultimate recipients of grant money.
Under the updated guidance, tax-exempt organizations filing IRS Form 990 disclosures will be expected to maintain greater accountability regarding where grant funds ultimately end up. The changes are designed to increase transparency and make it easier for federal authorities to follow money flowing through complex nonprofit networks.
“There has been substantial progress,” Bessent said, adding that Americans can expect “a lot to report” in the weeks and months ahead regarding investigations into Antifa funding.
The administration’s focus appears to be centered on identifying organizations that serve as financial intermediaries, allowing money to pass through multiple nonprofit entities before reaching activist groups operating on the ground. Critics have long argued that this structure enables wealthy donors and politically connected organizations to fund radical activism while remaining insulated from public scrutiny.
The effort represents a coordinated push across multiple federal agencies. While the IRS is examining nonprofit disclosures and financial records, the Treasury Department is monitoring financial transactions and the FBI is investigating potential criminal activity tied to violent extremist organizations.
The administration’s crackdown follows President Trump’s September 2025 designation of Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization. The White House at the time described Antifa as a violent, anti-law-enforcement movement that uses intimidation, organized violence, and concealed financial networks to advance its political objectives.
Trump administration officials have repeatedly argued that hidden funding sources have allowed radical activist groups to operate with limited accountability. The new reporting requirements are intended to make those financial relationships more visible to both investigators and the public.
Congressional Republicans are simultaneously increasing oversight efforts. Earlier this month, House Oversight Committee Republicans announced the creation of a new task force chaired by Representative Brandon Gill. The panel will investigate issues including dark-money networks, alleged government abuses, illegal DEI programs, immigration-related fraud, and efforts to suppress Americans’ constitutional rights.
Several prominent conservatives, including Jim Jordan, Andy Biggs, Byron Donalds, and Michael Cloud, are expected to play key roles in the oversight effort.
Taken together, the investigations signal a broader effort by the Trump administration and congressional Republicans to expose the financial infrastructure supporting radical left-wing activism.
If Bessent’s comments are any indication, administration officials believe they are getting closer to identifying the organizations and individuals who have helped bankroll Antifa operations while remaining largely hidden from public view.

Yay!!!!👏
Well finally someone has pulled his head out of the Parasites best ally's butt hole and is doing something constructive. But my feeling is we will be looking in the mirror; as in its taxpayer funded.
