Barack Obama Calls Out Black Men Who Support Donald Trump
There’s a clear gender war strategy that is making non-white males slowly gravitate to the Republican party
Former President Barack Obama stated that black males’ support for Donald Trump is “not acceptable.”
The former president believes that black males are uncomfortable with the idea of a female candidate running as president.
Obama has been particularly active on the campaign trail in light of Kamala Harris‘s perceived struggles at the polls with Donald Trump not only gaining momentum, but potentially opening up a much larger lead against her.
Obama declared in an unannounced appearance at a Harris campaign office in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania that he had not found the “same kinds of energy and turnout in all quarters of our neighborhoods and communities as we saw when I was running”.
The problem seemed to be “more pronounced with the brothers [Black males]”, Obama declared. Backing Trump , whom he believes insults women on the regular, was “not acceptable”.
“You’re coming up with all kinds of reasons and excuses. I’ve got a problem with that,” Obama declared a few hours before a rally he was slated to hold for Harris, the current vice president, in Pittsburgh.
All eyes are on Pennsylvania due to how it’s perceived as the key swing state that will likely determine the outcome of the entire election on November 5. For perspective, sitting President Joe Biden won the Keystone State in 2020 by a razor thin margin of 50% to 48.8%.
Trump has notably made progress with several segments of the black male population in battlegrounds such as Georgia and North Carolina.
On October 10 2024, Obama declared he was “speaking to men directly” when he said: “It makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that.”
“Women in our lives have been getting our backs this entire time . . . when we get in trouble and the system isn’t working for us, they’re the ones out there marching and protesting. And now, you’re thinking about sitting out or supporting somebody who has a history of denigrating you, because you think that’s a sign of strength, because that’s what being a man is? Putting women down? That’s not acceptable,” Obama added
Most polls have Harris and Trump in a dead heat in the seven swing states that will determine who will occupy the White House after November 5.
Republicans are apparently relying on a gender war strategy that has curiously made inroads with black male voters, but also Hispanic male voters. At the end of the day, any kind of minority support that Trump can pick up is welcome, but the eye should always be on the prize when it comes to winning the battleground seat. Namely, the Trump campaign needs to primarily focus on reaching out to white working class voters. Those were the voters that propelled him to victory in 2016 and they will be the demographic that, if tapped into in 2024, will deliver him a victory in the White House.
Any outreach effort that solely focuses on non-white voters is simply misguided at this point, especially when there are many disgruntled white working class voters who are ready to be activated and catered to.
"Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for [Biden] or Trump, then you ain’t black.”
- Joe Biden (2020)
“And you are thinking about sitting out? Part of it makes me think — and I'm speaking to men directly — part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren't feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you're coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that.”
- Barack Obama (2024)
I'm not really clear which kind of "men" Obama would refer to.
His old friends from the Gay Bathhouse in Chicago? Or his two lovers who were found shot dead -
to clear the way for his Presidential Candidature (They were too happy about that and talked too much). Well, whatever - that's not the average sort of men I know.
